Commercial planning law

Commercial planning law

This field defines regulations concerning the development of retail sales areas and the associated administrative procedures for authorisations and declarations.

In the Walloon Region, this branch of the law covers regulations relating to the drawing up, review and application of standards that govern the development of commercial surfaces included in the commercial development plan and the regulations concerning administrative procedures to obtain required authorisations for commercial development (commercial location permit or integrated permit), as well as the effects of these authorisations.

Finally, it covers regulations governing recourse in case of violations of these regulations.

In the Brussels-Capital Region there are no specific regulations. In this case, the question of the possible impact of a commercial development is consequently examined at the time of planning permit requests.
